Description

The Refuge is located in the Catinaccio area below the Vajolet Towers, at the center of numerous walks, excursions and equipped routes. There is the possibility of making numerous climbs of varying difficulty (East face of the Catinaccio, Punta Emma and Torri del Vajolet).

In addition to overnight stays, it is also possible to book half-board or full-board. Our kitchen offers typical local dishes, dishes for celiacs and vegans.

The Vajolet Refuge was built way back in 1897 by the DuÖAV section of Leipzig. In 1902 another small building was added near the old Refuge. As this still proved to be insufficient, the Leipzig section further expanded the Refuge in 1906 (see photo below). In 1912 the Vajolet Refuge was further expanded, to then pass in 1923 to the S.A.T. of Trent.
In the years that followed, the Vajolet Refuge became an important base for climbers and hikers who frequented the Catinaccio area.
