The Sennes Refuge, located at 2,126 m in the Fanes-Senes-Braies Nature Park, offers a wide panorama of some of the most beautiful Dolomite peaks: Croda Rossa (3,146 m), Cristallo (3,221 m), Sorapis (3,205 m), and Tofana (3,243 m). Cuisine We pamper our guests and hikers with a delicious selection of traditional local Tyrolean dishes. Italian and international dishes round out the menu. Particularly well-known and popular are the "Pasta alla Sennes," the "Mountaineer's Omelette," the "Grilled Steak with Various Side Dishes," and the "Knödel with Goulash." San Vigilio: by car or bus to the Pederü Alpine Hotel 12 km.
From Pederü (signpost no. 7 or Alta Via no. 1) turn left and you arrive in 2 hours walking 5.5 km.
San Vigilio: by car to Lago della Creta (1268 m) 3 km, follow path no. 25-24 which goes up to the left to Ciastlins- Forcella di Senes (2519 m) descent to the Sennes Refuge. (4-5 hours)
Cortina d’Ampezzo: by car or taxi to Malga Ra Stua (1700 m) from here path no. 6 for Val Salata 2 hours 5.5 km.
Lago di Braies: (1600 m) path no. 23 or Alta Via no. 1 can be reached after approx. 4.30 hours.

Summer - winter opening
Die Berghütte Sennes wurde zwischen 1937 und 1939 von der Familie Palfrader „Corjel“ erbaut. Sie wurde in den 1940er Jahren eröffnet und ist seitdem im Sommer wie im Winter geöffnet. 1962 wurden bedeutende Veränderungen vorgenommen: Unterhalb des Gipfels des Col de Riciogogn wurde eine Wasserquelle entdeckt und auf 2.550 m Höhe eine 4 km lange Wasserleitung verlegt. Außerdem wurden ein Generator und eine Heizungsanlage mit Holzheizkessel installiert. 1968 legte das Militär eine 450 m lange Landebahn an, und gleichzeitig wurde die Straße gebaut, die es seither Geländewagen ermöglicht, Sennes zu erreichen. 1985 wurde die Hütte erweitert und umfassend modernisiert.
