The Windegghütte is located in the Haslital (Bernese Oberland), in the heart of Switzerland. Geographically, it is located in the Uri Alps, but Susten and Triftgebiet are located in the canton of Bern. Both by car and by public transport, the starting points of the hut routes from practically all corners of Switzerland are easily accessible. Numerous tour options for every need, the cozy hut with 47 beds, the unique location in the wild Triftkessel with the Trift glacier in decline and the suspension bridge 170 meters long and 100 meters high make the visit to the hut an experience. Thanks to the Triftbahn, the Hüttenweg has halved to around 1 hour and 50 minutes and is also possible for the less experienced, for families with children, as well as for companies and clubs. Of course, the Windegghütte is also the starting point for beautiful tours. The classic: the mountain hike on the Furtwangsattel in Guttannen. Or alpine excursions on the Mähren-, Steinhüs- or Kleine Windegghorn, as well as climbing in the climbing garden near the hut. And in the spring it offers numerous ski touring enthusiasts and snowshoe hikers numerous wonderful tours off the beaten track. We are happy to wait for you and your guests for lunch or at z'Vieri and we guarantee that nobody hungry and thirsty should start the descent! When the weather is nice, we offer grilled or pan-fried specialties, hot and cold foods, beer and cold minerals, wines, tea and coffee at any time. And of course our coffee in the cabin ...!

In good weather, the Triftbistro is also open at the Triftbahn top station.

The Windegghütte is located in the Haslital (Bernese Oberland), in the heart of Switzerland. Both by car and by public transport, the starting points of the hut routes from practically all corners of Switzerland are easily accessible. From Sustenpassstrasse in about 4 hours or from the Triftbahn mountain station in 1.5 hours.

The main lodge has four bedrooms for a total of 34 beds in mass storage, a lounge, a kitchen and a guardian-Stubeli.
The winter cabin has 13 beds and is equipped with a simple kitchenette. Outside the maintenance period, it acts as a hut with a kitchenette (registration is required!) And emergency accommodation with emergency telephone and deposit. In summer we use it as an addiction.
In total there are 47 beds available. The maintenance season lasts from mid-June to mid-October, so exact maintenance times depend on weather conditions, snow conditions and the Triftbahn's operating times. Occasionally we also find ourselves during the period of ski mountaineering in the hut. You can find up-to-date information on the homepage and even the hut keeper will be happy to give you information by phone.

The Windegg hut is the starting point for many wonderful tours and weeks of tours for every need. We've put some together and we're convinced there's something for you too. A suggestion for an unforgettable day in the mountains:
- Take the Triftbahn for Triftalp
- Ascent to the Trift bridge (1h 50 min) with a unique view of the Trift glacier and the glacial lake
- ascent to the Windegg refuge (40 min)
- Lunch break
- descent into the valley; possibly from Triftalp by train
