The Schlernbödelehütte is located in the "Schlern-Rosengarten" nature park. The nature park is part of the Unesco natural heritage, the Dolomites. The hut on the north-east flank of the Schlernmassiv is the ideal starting point for a hut tour in the Dolomites or a climbing tour in the Schlernmassiv. It is also particularly popular with families for a day trip or an overnight stay in a hut. The hut was built in 1969 by the Bolzano and Sciliar Alpine Club sections. In 1984 the hut was destroyed by an avalanche and rebuilt in 1985-86.
