The sun rises and, as if by magic, begins to draw powerful silhouettes on the horizon... a few more minutes and you find yourself surrounded by the majestic Dolomites, in front of the imposing profile of the Fanes Alp which stands out against the reddish colors of dawn... this is the homeland of the mythical kingdom of the Fanes, which has always excited the imagination of the Ladins, inspiring them to embody fairy-tale magic in real life.
Thus were born the Chalets Liondes (in Ladin "legends"), environments of refined elegance, with a free and modern spirit, tastefully furnished in harmony with the magnificent surrounding nature, where the dreams of a holiday materialize in a dream holiday. Marebbe, or “Mareo” as the locals call it, is the northernmost municipality of Val Badia. It is made up of the hamlets of Pieve, Rina, Longega and the picturesque San Vigilio which stands at the foot of the Dolomites. In this charming mountain village, which rises at 1,200 m. above sea level 1,300 inhabitants live there. Here too, as throughout Val Badia, Ladin is spoken, an ancient Rhaeto-Roman language.
In San Vigilio tradition and modernity go hand in hand: here you can find both ancient farms and very modern infrastructures. All in the midst of a magnificent natural landscape, connected to this location by countless hiking trails. Almost 11,000 hectares of the Fanes - Sennes - Braies natural park are located in the municipal area of Marebbe. The landscape is characterized by the majestic Dolomite peaks, which were rightly declared a world heritage site by UNESCO in 2009.
For lovers of uncontaminated nature, San Vigilio di Marebbe is THE location where you can leave the daily grind behind you, in summer with splendid excursions and in winter with long skiing on Plan de Corones, one of the most popular ski areas in Europe, reachable with the ski lifts directly from San Vigilio.
MOUNTAIN BIKE: In summer San Vigilio di Marebbe is a popular destination for two-wheel lovers. Countless mountain bike trails wind through the Fanes - Sennes - Braies natural park, one of the largest in the entire province. With 250 kilometers of cycle routes through the enchanting nature of the Dolomites, cyclists are spoiled for choice; there are routes of all difficulties: whether you want to do a simple tour at the bottom of the valley or a challenging route halfway up the hill. It's also worth taking a nice tour on the increasingly popular E-bikes; for more information, contact one of the many rental companies in the area directly.

The large dining and living area invites you to stay a while, perhaps spending the evening curled up on the sofa enjoying the wide choice of television channels available. The private spa with Finnish sauna, shower with shower head and outdoor relaxation area with hydromassage tub are a real panacea for body and soul.
