The HeinrichHeinrich-Schwaiger-Haus is an Alpine Club hut in the Munich section and is beautifully situated above the Kaprun reservoirs at 2,802 m. It offers 72 mountaineers a place to sleep in camps, multi-bed rooms and a winter room. It has three cozy dining rooms and a promising terrace with a view over the Glockner Group and the Kitzbühel Mountains, as well as all 3,000 meter showers and washing facilities, the ascent is via a narrow climb, which requires surefootedness and a head for heights. The hut opens in mid-June and remains open until around the end of September, depending on the weather
Read everythingBy car to the Kapruner Bergbahnen (free car park), from there by bus and an inclined elevator to the Kapruner Stauseen terminus. At the end of the second dam, it takes about two hours up a narrow path to the hut, which can already be seen from the dam.

- The Tauern tour: Krefelder Hütte - Heinrich-Schwaiger-Haus- Gleiwitzer Hütte - Kapruner Tal. The four-day tour of the Tauern leads counterclockwise around the Kaprun valley. This tour tip is aimed at experienced and experienced climbers who are looking for a unique, almost deserted, excursion from one hut to another.

I originally come from Regensburg, where I always work in the DAV climbing center during the winter as a counter manager. One day, as a trained office clerk and horse steward, I was fed up with office chairs and the mucking out of stables and realized a dream: working in a hut for once.
In the summer of 2017, I was a hut lessee for the first time and was able to get to know the bare truth of a hut owner, which did not stop me from applying for the Heinrich Schwaiger House. High up in the mountains - not accessible to everyone and without a gondola - that's how I imagine a real shelter. This is exactly the right thing for me!
